ANDRA The French National Radioactive Waste Management Agency is a public organisation created by the Act of 30 December 1991, whose missions have been further expanded by the Planning Act of 28 June 2006 Concerning the Sustainable Management of Radioactive Material and Waste.
Placed under the supervision of the Ministers for Energy, Research and the Environment, Andra is responsible for the long-term management of all radioactive waste generated in France. Through its knowledge and know-how, the Agency is well equipped to support State initiatives with a view to designing waste-management solutions and to operating radioactive-waste disposal facilities, while protecting human beings and the environment against any impact of those residues over the long term.
